One person was killed and 10 others injured early morning when a vehicle ran down pedestrians near a Finsbury Park Mosque in the northern area of the city, according to authorities. Authorities said the incident was being investigated by the anti-terrorism unit and the suspect's mental health status would be examined.
Police said the death of a male victim occurred at the scene near the Finsbury Park Mosque.
8 injured were sent to three separate hospitals and two others were treated at the scene.
A 48-year-old suspected attacker was also sent to a hospital as a precaution and would be questioned after being discharged, police said.
The attack "intentionally" targeted worshippers, according to Harun Khan, Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Britain.
Authorities have yet to provide details about the incident but social media posts said a white male deliberately drove his vehicle into pedestrians
