Additional information

The "Srebrenica genocide", often called the Srebrenica massacre, in July 1995, was killing of more than 8,000 Bosniaks, mainly men and boys, in and around the town of Srebrenica during the Bosnian War.

The killing was perpetrated by units of the Army of Republika Srpska (VRS) under the command of General Ratko Mladić. Although Secretary-General of the United Nations described the mass murder as the worst crime on European soil since the Second World War, some holocaust "experts", like Efraim Zuroff, have sharply criticised comparison to Holocaust and the Rwanda genocide with the crimes committed in Srebrenica.

The 2015 UK resolution proposal at Security Council, brandnig the massacre as "genocide", has failed due to Russian veto.

In response, the US congress passed the resolution, officially labeling the killings as "genocide", as well as the European Parliament, the same week.
