The Wals family from Neerkant was also on the flight and they too were wildly excited about their summer holiday to Malaysia

Cycling enthusiast Jeroen and his wife Nicole and the children Amel Brett, Jinte and Solenn all perished.

“Thursday, finally to Malaysia,” Jinte Wals said on twitter earlier this week. Local residents all congregated at the school and were distraught at the loss of the family.

According to some experts, Russian aircraft with Russian tourists was expected to be shot down, to back further wide-scale Russian invasion in Ukraine after Crimea and East Ukraine
