Dhaka, July 1 (Priyo.com): Actress Mita Noor has been found dead at her Gulshan residence in the capital Monday.

Latest Update: Eminent actress Mita Noor allegedly committed suicide as her husband got an extramarital affair. She can’t bear her husband’s such behavior in her 24-year married life. As a result, she committed suicide, sources said.

On the other hand, Fazlur Rahman, father of demise actress Mita Noor, claimed her daughter died due to oppression and torture by her husband Sahanur Rahman Rana. He accused that Sahanur earlier tried two times to kill Mita.

But sources said it is not clear yet, whether this was a murder or suicide.

Earlier, on receiving information from her family members, several teams of police including DB and CID rushed to her house at House No. 16, Road No.104 in Gulshan 2 area. Members of the law enforcement agencies found the actress's body hanging from the ceiling fan in her bedroom.

It could not be known immediately whether Noor committed suicide or it is a case of homicide, said Rafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Gulshan Police Station.

Family members of the actress however termed the incident as a suicide, the police official told the media.

The body was found hanging from the ceiling fan with a scarf at the drawing room of Noor’s house where she lived with her husband and child, the OC said.

Gulshan police received a phone call from Mita’s Gulshan-1 residence around 6:45am and rushed to the spot.

The members of Criminal Investigation Department also reached the spot to investigate the incident.

Gulshan Thana officer-in-charge S.I Mizan informed Priyo.com that her family said nothing about the whole thing. Also said they are taking the body for postmortem now.

Police sent the body to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for a post-mortem. The cause of her death could not yet be ascertained.

An unnatural death case was filed with the police station, Sub-Inspector and Duty Officer of Gulshan Police Station Sabbir Rahman said.

Mita Noor is a very well known face in the TV media from the 90s. She has acted in a large number of TV plays and serials. As a successful TV actress, though she had possessed a good position in drama for 22 years.

By performing in a weekly play of Bangladesh television titled ‘Sagor Sencha Sadh’ in 1989, Mita Noor came into view as an actress. But she earned huge popularity by performing in a TVC of Olympic battery in 1992,which was directed by Afzal Hossain.
