Nina Liepins Terzens Karklis, 98, passed away December 24, 2014.
Nina was born in Liepāja, Latvia on December 3, 1916 to parents, Janis and Lydia Liepins.

She arrived in New York aboard the USNS General R. M. Blatchford in 1950 with her daughters Aina and Ruta and lived in Hudson, Columbia County, NY. She was predeceased by her husband, Arnold Terzens.

She moved to Indianapolis in 1962. She was married to Talivaldis Karklis in 1963 in Indianapolis. He died in 1980.

Nina, a homemaker, attended Kautsminde Culinary School in Latvia. She was a member of the Indianapolis Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Latvian Community Center. She enjoyed baking, making wine and jelly. She was also an avid gardener and collector of her beloved Scotties.

Nina is survived by her two daughters, Ruta Cooper and Aina Terzens DiMartino; grandsons, Louis DiMartino and Caldwell Cooper; granddaughters, Kristine DiMartino and Robyn Wasserman; and five great-grandchildren.
