Pastor Bernhard Hülsen (1.11.1864-11.12.1933) chess composer

Pastor Bernhard Hülsen (1.11.1864-11.12.1933) died 75 years ago. He was already dedicated to problem chess at a young age, although he also devoted himself intensively to practical play, including blindfold simultaneous play. As early as 1882, he founded a chess column in a daily newspaper, which he ran until 1889. In 1887, the editor of the then still relatively new German weekly chess magazine Deutscher Wochenschach invited Hülsen to take over the problems section. He was then co-editor of this important journal until 1908. Hülsen composed more than 1000 chess problems.
