Louisa Moritz (25 September 1946 – 30 January 2019) was a Cuban-American actress, real estate holder, classic guitar player and producer.

After arriving in New York from Cuba, she became an actress in films, television shows, and television ads. She is best known for her roles in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest with Jack Nicholson and the television show Love, American Style.

Early life

Luisa Cira Castro Netto was born in Havana, Cuba and left Cuba during the political upheaval of the 1950s/early 1960s, hiding aboard a ship and making her way to New York City. She chose the stage last name of Moritz after seeing the Hotel St. Moritz in New York City and later named the property she bought on S. Reeves Saint Moritz Hotel. She had a son who remained in Flushing, New York to be raised by her sister when she left for Hollywood.

Professional life

Moritz went to the Woodbury University, as well as Abraham Lincoln University School of Law. She reportedly won the American Jurisprudence Bancroft Whitney Prize for Contracts and passed the Bar exam on her first try. On 25 June 2015, she was suspended from the California State Bar. On 1 October 2017, Moritz was disbarred following failure to respond to contact attempts from the California State Bar. She was active in Los Angeles real estate as an agent, manager and investor.

Accusations against Bill Cosby

In November 2014, Moritz joined other female accusers of actor Bill Cosby, claiming Cosby sexually assaulted her in a Manhattan dressing room for The Tonight Show in 1971.
