Frederick James Webber was my grandfather's first cousin. He was a gunner in the Royal Garrison Artillery. His parents were Charles and Mary Webber of Newton Abbot, Devon, England. He died in his home in Newton Abbot from sickness incurred on the Western Front. He is commemorated by the Commonwealth Grave Commission in Wolborough cemetery, St. Mary's Church, Newton Abbot. Two of his brothers also fought in the war. Owen John Webber was wounded at the battle of Jutland and lost the sight of one eye and was lame for the rest of his life. Matthew Bernard Webber was a sapper with the Royal Engineers. He survived the war.
