SHUR BONYA YAKOVLEVITCH-YANKELEVITCH, 16.01.1923, Daugavpils. From 1942 serg. 125 Gu Riffle reg. 43 Gu Lat. Rifle div. On 14.01.1944 wounded near Vel. Luki; after the recovery was sent to Moscow Officer School; as a lieuten. Was sent to Germny as unit SMERSH; after the war he served at musical ansemble in Red Army. Learned in musical institute-college in Germany and USA. Worked as composer at Czecko-Slovakia, Austria and Poland. In Israel since 1949. In 1960 emigrat. to USA, was a professor and director of Liturgical Arts Emeritus at Hebrew Union College of Religion in Cincinati, Ohio. [pic]
