PASTERNAK YAZEP (IOSIF) OSKAR, 18.05.1919, Yaroslavl, lived in Riga. Student of archit. fac. in LSU. In 1941 retreated to Novgorod with a special detachment; volunteer in 183 Lat. reg. in July -Aug. 1941; from 1942 1 SLRRR, graduated officers4 s courses; from Feb. 1943 -comm. of platoon 125 Gu reg. 43 Gu Lat. Rifle div.; Gu lieuten., near Star. Russa, at Nasva and in liberation of Latvia, 3 times wounded. At the front till end of the war as Gu mayor. Entered free Riga on a white horse 16.10.1944. Orders: "Al. Nevsky", "Patr.war" 1 degree, medals. After the war worked in the Latvian Ministry of culture in Riga. Killed by bandits 10.11.1976. Buried at the "Mesha kapi" cemetery in Riga. His sister LENA - partic. in WWII. His wife LIDIYA Freiman - people4 s actress of the USSR. Died in Riga. [pic]
