Studiował na Uniwersytecie Poznańskim. Odbył ćwiczenia rezerwy w 7 dyonie art. plot. jako dowódca plut. (1932, 1934). Ukończył kurs w CWArt. Plot. (1937). W 1939 w 101 samodzielnej baterii art. plot. ciężkiej. Inżynier rolnik.
