He graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics and Novosibirsk State University.
In 1991, with his wife and two children he emigrated to the United States. He worked as a programmer.
He wrote poetry and published two books in Los Angeles: "MONoSTRofY" - in 2003 and "MONoSTRofY-2" - in 2008. He worked in all sections of chess composition, preferring endgame studies
