1935.gadā apprecas ar Austru Bērziņu. Ģimene sakuplo ar divām meitām un dēlu: Judīte (prec. Vāgnere), Irēne (prec. Puķīte) un Pauls. 1939. gadā izceļo uz Meklenburgu Vācijā, bet 1941. gadā atgriežas Rīgā. Nikolaju Andersonu iesauc Otrā pasaules karā, kur viņš pazūd bez vēsts.
