Eight people, including two women, were killed on Tuesday in a suicide attack in Seyagerd district in Parwan province.

The attack took place in a bazar in the district when a suicide bomber riding a motorcycle detonated his explosives among civilians. In addition to those killed, 34 were injured.

According to reports children are also among the victims.

"The victims are only civilians, school students and other civilians in the market," said Dad Mohammad one of the shopkeepers.

According to reports the suicide bomber was riding a motorbike and allegedly wanted to target the Seyagerd district governor's building but before he could get there he was spotted by security forces. He then detonated his explosives among the people.
