BERNSTEIN YAKOV BENDETOVITCH, 02.04.1916, Riga; (brother of ARON and IOSIF, see); was drafted from the Latvian University to the Latvian Army; in 1940/1941 worked at different editorial offices in Riga; since August 1941- volunteer in 201 Lat. Rifle div., then as a German language specialist was transferred to the Polit. management 1st Ukrainian front. After the war worked as a poetry translator from Russian and Latvian into German. In Israel since 1990. Died 03.08.1991.
