Tonight our thoughts and prayers are with the U.S. Capitol Police and the family and friends of Officer William Evans, who died today as a result of injuries sustained following an attack on officers at the U.S. Capitol.
Evans began his service on March 7, 2003, acting Capitol Police Chief Yogananda Pittman said in a statement, and he was a member of the Capitol Division's First Responder's Unit.
