Valery Borisovich Garkalin (Russian: Вале́рий Бори́сович Гарка́лин; 11 April 1954 – 20 November 2021) was a Soviet and Russian theater and film actor, People's Artist of the Russian Federation (2008), Professor of GITIS.

Family

Widower. Wife Yekaterina (since 1978), died in 2009.

Daughter Nika, engaged in theatrical production. The son-in-law is an actor of the Theatre of Nations Pavel Akimkin. In 2012, the actor became a grandfather, Nika gave birth to son Timofey.

On October 2, 2021, with a coronavirus infection, the 67-year-old artist was hospitalized in Kommunarka. At that time, the damage to his lungs was 75-85%.
