About Me   

Ever since my first visit to a local cinema at a very young age, I've been in love with movies. Feverishly absorbing nearly every film I could get my hands on, I soon got a bit frustrated with Hollywood's conservative playing-it-safe commercial business attitude, which mostly resulted in different wrappings around the same stories. However, it didn't take very long for me to discover the underbelly of the moving pictures industry; the stuff one refers to as B-movie, underground, low-budget, trash, sleaze, (s)exploitation, you name it.  An abundance of ambition but a lack of budget forced some filmmakers to get more creative, original and innovative, embracing themes and visuals Hollywood dared not touch upon.  

A new world opened itself in front of my adolescent eyes. Mainly through satellite television broadcasts I was exposed to a plethora of German sexploitations films from the early seventies.  Today I still enjoy such flicks, if only for their bogus claims to contain a relevant social commentary, while really their sole purpose was to show an endless stream of young, beautiful and very naked teenage girls. Cut to years later - now in my thirties, my cinematic tastes haven't altered much.  

In fact, since I was introduced to the internet around 1997, it eventually has become a lot easier to track down and buy a bunch of films I'd previously only heard or read about. In the process I stumbled upon some of the German aufklärungsfilme I viewed back in the satellite days, and by chance got re-introduced to this angelic brown-haired female presence I vividly remember being very fond of. This time, with more resources to my aid, I couldn't resist trying to find out more about her.  

A name would help, but those films didn't go the extra mile and actually provide informative end credits.  Still, by comparing names in the opening credits of various films this mysteriousfräulein starred in, I was able to come up with a name...

Ulrike Butz.

So, the hard part is over, I assumed.  

Google will do the rest. Or as it turned out, it wouldn't.
