Yoga Syahputra better known as Olga Syahputra (born February 8, 1983, died March 27, 2015), was an Indonesian actor, comedian, singer and host. Syahputra was an actor who often plays transvestites.

Career

Olga Syahputra was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, on February 8, 1983 the eldest of seven brothers. He wass known for his sissy act and wass one of the most successful Indonesian entertainers. He was seen in numerous Indonesian TV programs especially during Ramadhan festival every year. As a youth, he was just a fan who often asked for autographs and photographs of his idols. He was fortunate to be offered a role in the movie Lenong Bocah. His role required him to take advanced training in Padang-Java at the Sanggar Ananda owned by Aditya Gumay. As he had no money, Olga was forced to sell a refrigerator to pay for classes. A friend, Bertrand Antolin, later purchased a new refrigerator for him.

While active at Sanggar Ananda, Olga worked frequently, though the parts were small. Olga was also an assistant to the singer Rita Sugiarto. Perseverance finally paid off when he began to get roles in the soap operas, including Kawin Gantung and Si Yoyo. He then became a presenter for Ngidam on SCTV paired with Jeremy Thomas. Olga also played in the comedy Jangan Cium Gue followed by Extravaganza ABG in 2005. By this time, Olga was becoming well known in Indonesia. His breakout year was 2007 when he appeared with Indra Bekti and Indy Barends at the Ceriwis awards show on Trans TV.

In 2008, Olga became a TV presenter of music events on the Dahsyat morning shown on RCTI. His co-presenter since March 2011 has beenJessica Iskandar. There has been speculation that Olga will marry Jessica.

Olga won the award for Favorite presenter Music/Variety Show and Favorite Comedian in Panasonic Awards 2009 and Panasonic Awards 2010 published in RCTI, MNCTV, and Global TV

In addition to being a presenter, he also starred in such movies as Skandal Cinta Babi Ngepet and Mau Lagi (released as Cintaku Selamanya').

Olga is no longer a presenter for the Ceriwis program on Trans TV.

Controversy

Olga Syahputra was reprimanded by the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) while hosting Strikes (RCTI) on Friday, on May 1, 2009. Olga is talkative, let slip uttered male genitalia[6] after watching the action Limbad, one of which was later named a mentalist show rocketed through the Master.

In the event Dahsyat on June 30, 2010, Olga angered the band Five Minutes because his jokes were overestimated. When it seemed demeaning name Olga Five Minutes Five Minutes felt so humiliated. After that, Olga and Five Minutes a meeting and apologized Olga over the offending joked.

Also, the indulgence Olga joke rant and mimicking-transvestite style also caused controversy and under the spotlight of Indonesian Broadcasting Commission.

Olga joke on the show "Decade" on Trans TV also makes it reported to the KPI. Olga who plays the ghost replied, "trivial, in kentot minivan drivers" when asked the cause of his death, but it is not in the script. This resulted in reported Olga to the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission by various parties.

Death

Olga died on 27 March 2015 because of Meningitis
