IOFFE MICHAIL ISAAKOVITCH, 11.01.1898, Riga; musician, doctor, scientist and tutor; one of the founders of "Bikur-Holim" hospital; partic. in the revol. mov.; in 1940/41 deputy minister of public Health; during the war capt. of med. serv.and chief of hospit.at North-West, Donsky and 3 Ukrainian fr.; awarded. After the war assist minister of Public Health, then Docent RMI. Died 20.11.1979 in Riga. Buried at the cemetery "Rainis". His father was director of "Bikur-Holim" hospital.
