NOVOZHENETZ LEA AIZIKOVNA, 10.10.1921, Riga. Graduate of Industrial Secondary School of Arts, Branch of Ceramics. Since 1941 studied in Latvian Academy of Arts. Volunteered in 1 SLRRR, accompanied to submachine gunner. Since June 1943 at the front in 123 Gu Rifle reg. 43 Gu Rifle div. ranks. Fought near Star. Russa and Nasva. Took part in liberation of Latvia; decorated. After war graduated from Latvian Academy of Arts; sculptor, author of many significant works. Since 1993 lives in Israel; her husband Shmarkovitch SIMHA - war inv, died. Brother ABI and sister SONYA also participated in WWII. [pic]
