Trade Mark  His left hook Trivia  Professional heavyweight boxer from 1955 to 1961. Set a boxing record on January 11, 1960 by scoring 44 consecutive knockout victories; a record which still stands 45 years later. On December 1, 1958 in Bingham, Utah, he set a boxing record by knocking out 6 opponents in one night; this record still stands today. Scored 29 first round knockout wins. He was knocked out by Muhammad Ali at 1:27 of the 2nd round on April 19, 1961 at Freedom Hall in Louisville. He retired from boxing after the fight. Was undefeated in his first 47 fights, 44 by knockout. Knocked out future actor Tony Burton in 6 rounds in 1959. 44 consecutive knockout streak was ended by Bartolo Soni on April 8, 1960 when he was knocked out in 9 rounds.
