John Bramwell Ridsdel was an English-born Canadian businessman from Calgary, Alberta; kidnapped by Abu Sayyafmilitants in the Philippines on 21 September 2015, and beheaded on 25 April 2016. He was 68 years old.
Mr Hall, his Filipina partner Marites Flor, Norwegian Kjartan Sekkingstad, and Canadian John Ridsdel were kidnapped from a marina near the city of Davao last September.
They were taken to an Abu Sayyaf stronghold on the remote island of Jolo, and Mr Ridsdel was killed on 25 April after a ransom deadline passed.
