Jean Kent (born 29 June 1921 born in Brixton, London as Joan Mildred Summerfield) is a British film and television actress.

She started her theatrical career in 1931 as a dancer. She used the stage name 'Jean Carr' when she appeared as a chorus girl in the Windmill Theatre in London.

She signed to Gainsborough Pictures during the Second World War. The turning point in her career came when she was given a dramatic part in 1945 film Fanny by Gaslight. She appeared in several British films during the 1940s and 1950s before turning to television.

Kent was married to Austrian actor Josef Ramart from 1946 until his death in 1989. The actor Stewart Granger was the best man at their wedding. They appeared together in the films Caravan and Trottie True.

Jean was the subject of This Is Your Life in 1974 when she was surprised by Eamonn Andrews at the Strand Theatre.

28.11.2013 actress was injured in a fall at her home in the Suffolk village of Westhorpe.

She was taken by ambulance to West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds where she died 30.12.2013.
