Fbg Duck - Chicago Legends

Early life

Carlton Dequan Weekly was born on December 6, 1993. He was from the 63rd Street and St. Lawrence neighborhood in Chicago, a place also informally known as Tookaville. Weekly was a member of the FBG (Fly Boy Gang) drill music group. He was one of the earliest pioneers of the drill music genre during its peak in 2012.

Career

FBG Duck released his earliest music in 2011 at the beginning of the drill music movement, mostly as a response to rappers like Chief Keef from rival neighborhoods. He remained active until his death. His most popular song was "Slide", which received over 53 million views on YouTube. A remix of the song featuring 21 Savage was released subsequently. He was shortly thereafter signed to Records Co. and Columbia Records.

Death

On August 4, 2020, Weekly was shot in the Gold Coast district of Chicago as he was shopping. He can be seen on video moving and fighting to live while police watched him bleed out for over 10 minutes offering no comfort, assistance, CPR, or anything. Paramedics arrived too late as he was was later placed on a stretcher where he took his last breath and his arm dangled. He was later Pronounced dead at 26 years old where a Caucasian individual rejoiced his death. The police and EMTS in the video were criticized in their lack of care and effort in saving Weekly’s life, for if they moved more urgently Weekly can still be alive.
