Antoni Boleslaw Richert  was born in Gdynia Poland. He was my grandfather. I am his only grandchild. 

He was studying to be a mechanical engineer and he was also an amateur boxer and went with the Polish national team to the Olympics in Berlin  when the war broke out he was enlisted in the Polish navy in the submarines,  he was caught by the Germans and sent to Bergen Belsen.  Luckily enough he was strong and healthy so he was sent to labour instead of the gas chambers.  He managed to escape even though he was not in good shape and got a lift on a small plane.  He did not know where it was going but when he arrived his destination was... Croyden airport in Surrey England.  He joined an amateur boxing club, he met my grandmother married her and then set up an engineering company in Sutton.

I never met him as he died exactly 3 years (11/05/68) before I was born (11/05/71).

He is buried in Sutton cementary in Surrey, England. 

He married Betty Helen Richert (née Sinner) and they had 2 daughters, Elizabeth Richert and Sarah Anna Richert. 
Elizabeth lives near Epsom, Surrey, England and Sarah Anna died of cancer on the 7/12/83 and is buried with him. 

His wife passed away 17/03/04

His sister Ewa lives in Gdynia, Poland. 

His has three nieces: Ywona  who is married and lives in Sweden and Mira who is also married and lives in Paris and another one who's name I don't know but she married a Greek and lives somewhere in Greece.

His cousin lives in England. 

He has 3 great grandchildren living in Marbella Spain: Carlos Alberto, Sara Margot, and Massimo Alejandro.
