John Alec Entwistle (9. oktoober 1944 – 27. juuni 2002) oli inglise rokkbändi The Who basskitarrist. Teda on peetud üheks maailma osavamaks ja mõjukamaks basskitarristiks.

Sünd ja karjääri algusaastad

John Alec Entwistle sündis 1944. aastal Londoni äärelinnas Chiswickis ja õppis Acton County algkoolis. Ta liitus Middlesex Youth Orchestraga ning esimesed instrumendid, mida ta mängima õppis, olid trompet, metsasarv ja klaver, mida kõiki ta kasutas ka oma hilisemas rokkmuusikas. 1960. aastate alguses mängis ta mitmete džäss- ja diksiländibändide koosseisus, koos oma koolikaaslase Pete Townshendiga duos The Confederates, ning koos liitusid nad Roger Daltrey bändiga The Detours, millest sai hiljem The Who.
